Me at a cooking class in Thailand
Hello!
Food, cooking, and nutrition has always been a passion of mine. I love to eat food, experience new cultures through food, and I feel alive and energized by eating healthy and whole foods. It is my belief that food is the center of wellness, and the real “secret” to lifelong vitality is…. are you ready?… shhh, don’t tell anyone……. drumroll please…… just eat more plants. Organic plants, the way Mother Nature intended. I love finding ways to make vibrant healthy foods be simple, efficient, and most of all delicious. I am a freeform cook and use recipes as just loose guidelines. Cooking is both simple and complex, an art and a science.
I am a self taught chef and nutritionist. My recipes are mostly healthy, mostly plant based, and mostly vegan. I do not strictly adhere to any one way of eating. I am constantly experimenting with what foods best nourish my body and my soul, as both are equally important and relevant when it comes to food.
‘Green’ is the color of my favorite foods, my favorite places, and it is also my last name! Truly, I could eat a big bodacious salad for every meal (and often do), and deeply crave dark leafy greens like none other. The lush green mountains of Washington is where I feel most at home, and I married into a fitting name I suppose (thanks Mark:).
‘Cuisine’ embodies my love of culture and travel. Going on adventures near and far is a huge passion of mine and I do it any chance I get, which means you will usually find me in the mountains or woods on the weekends and traveling whenever I get the chance (but not nearly as often as I wish). I was an Anthropology major in college and I love studying different cultures, especially through their food. Food is so key to the heart of a culture. Enjoying the local cuisine of a place can make you truly feel like you are a part of that locale, and can even bring you there from your own kitchen.
My other favorite things in life are the outdoors, adventures and date nights with my husband, spending time with family, personal development, yoga, attempting to learn photography, and our weird/silly/cute/lovable dog Moxie (many photos to follow;).
